a lange sohne saxonia moonphase

It’s no secret that Lange is one of my favorite makers. So you can imagine my disappointment when I didn’t get to spend much time with the new Saxonia Moon Phase back in January, but was just able to get my hands on one this week and boy does it not disappoint. In fact, this might be my new favorite watch. For me, this watch exemplifies everything that Lange does well: clean, restrained, beautifully-finished timepieces. Let’s start with the movement. The new a lange sohne saxonia moonphase is powered by the new L086.5, which is essentially the same thing as the L086.1 used in the Saxonia Automatic (another fave), with the addition of the moon-phase complication. One thing that Lange does so well is the moon-phase complication. Not only […]

a lange sohne saxonia thin

I haven’t wanted a watch this badly in a long time. Sure, there are grails and dream watches out there that might get my blood pumping harder, but no watch that is both so appealing and so close to possible reach as the A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin 37mm. Beyond my personal affinity, this […]

Together […]

A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph

One of the more interesting comparisons we’ve done in recent months was in the latest edition of Three On Three, in which we compared three really strong watches – all hand-wound, all chronographs, and all with in-house movements. As we noted then, in-house hand-wound chronograph movements in wristwatches have actually been something of a rarity […]

a lange sohne 1815

The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 collection is also composed of many different models. These watches feature classically elegant designs that resemble those of the company’s early pocket watches.
